Hello again,

Just wanted to update you on my two dogs T-Bone and Malibu. I have now switched both of them over to your food and I am amazed at the difference for T-Bone especially! He has been on it for over two weeks now and I have been able to take him off of his drug Tylan completely! He has not had one bout of diarrhea (can't spell that word) and he is having the best poops ever! They are both pooping WAY less (except for Malibu when she eats all the berries and twigs from the tree in our yard.....darn dog). They both absolutely LOVE the food and T-Bone will whine if I forget to thaw it out fast enough for them!

I cannot believe that all along these last couple years of battling colitis with T-Bone that he is much better with the raw food! A couple years back I was feeding him his dog food and would give him raw bones as a treat along with it and they kept telling me to stay away from the raw because that was the likely cause of his problem with colitis!  I know that his skin had cleared up when I removed grains from his diet and this just proves it was dog foods making him sick, not the real raw food! We went thru so many different kinds of dog food and I would try to lower his medication but he would always have problems with colitis and I had to keep him pumped full of that drug!

This is finally what I have been trying to accomplish so thank you very much for helping me make T-Bone get better!!!! (and for saving my carpets from his bad bouts with colitis!!) I am actually going to save money on vet bills and medications!

Please keep making your dog foods!!! There are soo many more people out there that need to know there is help! There have got to be many dogs out there that are having the same issues as T-Bone and it is a very frustrating problem for many people having dogs that are messing in the house but no fault of their own when they are sick. I spread the word on raw as much as I can and even gave a patty to a mom from football last week for her to try for her husky.

 Thanks again!!

Hello,

My name is Cindy, and I work part time at Tailblazers in Lethbridge, AB. I have been feeding Legacy beef to my 2 dogs, since we started getting it in the store, and they really like it. They are not crazy about chicken or bison for some reason, but that is in any of the raw foods I have tried.  My terrier mix Charlie has been through a ton of tests, due to liver, gallbladder and pancreas problems. I won't go into detail, but they want me to go on a low fat, low protien diet. The vets I have seen, mine and specialist in Calgary think I should go off the raw food and put her on the medical canned foods, stating the raw food could be causing problems due to bacteria. Charlie has barely eaten for a week, including the cooked diet I have been trying to feed her. I fed her your beef this morning and she gobbled down her food for the first time this week. I let the vets scare me off what I know to be the best diet, but Charlie made it clear, it is what she wants, and I know it is the best diet for our pets. It is amazing how you can be persuaded in a time of crisis to turn away from the knowledge you have, but I am back to my senses thanks to my girl.

Thank you for getting back to me, I appreciate it. You are right about the emotional issues, I am still struggling with "is it something I have done that has caused her problems, and am I doing the best right now".  I was feeding several different raw foods, and lots of other treats, which I have stopped.  Legacy is the first raw food that my dogs have really seemed to like. I think your food has more texture to chew. The other brands I have tried seem really mushy or ground so much there is no substance. I actually tried Charlie on your bison, and she liked it. She has never eaten any other brand of bison at all before.

I really wish I had access to a holistic vet, as we don't have anything close in Lethbridge. We don't have one vet here that knows anything about the raw food, and I go to the only one in town that doesn't lecture me on it.  I do have fears about adding to Charlie's problems, she is on 3 different antibiotics , and a lot of liver support, but I really believe that real food is the best thing I can do for her.

I am really happy to report that Charlie is doing very well. She is still on some liver support, but she seems totally back to normal and she has gained all of the weight she had lost back.  It is amazing when I started talking to people, how many other dogs have had liver problems, and the people I have spoken too, not one of them feeds raw, though the vets I went too wanted to blame the raw. One dog had a badly infected tooth, and had liver failure from the toxins circulating from the infected tooth, and the other person I talked too was like Charlie, they never figured out what the problem was. From everything I have read, and been able to find out, the liver fails whenever it can't keep up with cleaning the toxins from the system. I will never know what caused Charlie to be sick, but she is better and I am still feeding a half raw, half cooked diet.  I have been buying organic chicken too, but I cook it and make a stew with yam or rice and blended raw veggies, the chicken goes farther if I make a stew. But I am only buying Legacy to feed raw.

Hi There!  My name is Bella and I am almost three years old.  My mom is a Cocker and my daddy is a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier and I’m both!  When I was taken to my new home I missed them only for a little while, because my new pack leaders are great.  Right from the beginning they made sure I had the best.  Especially when it came to my food.  I’m so lucky they are health conscious about what they eat and what I eat too!

They really were giving me what they thought was the best food (dry kibble) for me along with some healthy treats.  My lady pack leader was curious as to how she could give me even more nutritious food, so lucky for me she broke her foot and had to hire someone to walk me!  Boy was I lucky.  This other nice pack leader who knows so much about nutrition told my pack leader about Legacy.  Did I ever score big time!

So far I have tried beef, bison and chicken.  Chicken is my favourite and I can’t wait to get out of bed in the morning to scoot into the kitchen and have my breakfast.  I especially love it when it has been warmed up just a little in warm water in a bag.  Sometimes I am impatient so I sit right beside the counter and cry!

I used to get these big gooey things from my eyes like all dogs get and since I have been on raw food I notice my pack leader isn’t cleaning my eyes as often.  Also she doesn’t say that pooey word as much, because I have less of a funny smell coming from under my tail!  I have also heard her say my poops are fewer, less gooey and less smelly too!  She has an easier time picking them up because they are drier.  I know that makes her happy!

I am so glad she did her research to discover that I am less like a human inside and more like my ancestor, the wolf.  Even though I love my warm bed and place on the couch and love to cuddle with my humans, deep down I love to eat like my ancestors did – raw muscle – organs and bones – yum!  If I never see kibble again it will be too soon.  Thanks to everyone at Legacy for making it is easy for my pack leaders to give me the best food ever and reduce my risk of disease and increase my possibilities for a long healthy life!  Luv Bella
